When it first came out in 2017, the iPhone X was the phone to have, and there are plenty of reasons why you should still get one now. Here are five compelling reasons to purchase an iPhone X in 2022.

  1. Affordable

It was first released in 2017. The iPhone X made waves because it was Apple’s first $1,000 flagship phone. We’re used to seeing $1,000 phones and even phones that cost more than $2,000, such as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3. When the iPhone X was released, though, sticker shock was palpable.

Thankfully, you can get the iPhone X for a lot less these days. Apple stopped selling the iPhone X in 2018, and you won’t be able to get one new from any carriers, but you can get one used for roughly $250. Buying an iPhone X now means getting a great deal on a phone that was once prohibitively expensive.

2. It’s still running the most recent version of iOS.

Despite its age, the iPhone X is still capable of running Apple’s current operating system, iOS 15. One of the things that people admire about Apple is that it is committed to long-term maintenance for older iPhones. Even older phones, such as the iPhone 6S, can run the most recent version of iOS. When it comes to software support, the iPhone X, which is several years newer, has no concerns. The iPhone X’s A11 Bionic chip was a beast when it was new, but it isn’t as powerful as it once was. If you have too many apps open or are playing a graphically heavy game, your phone may slow down.

3. Modern Design

The iPhone X was the first iPhone with an all-screen design and no Home button. It was this device that gave us the now-famous iPhone notch. To be fair, Apple has made some design tweaks to the iPhone since the release of the X. Despite significant adjustments, Apple’s design language has been an evolution of the look that debuted on the iPhone X for the past few years. The iPhone 13 Pro, Apple’s latest flagship, is eerily similar to the iPhone X. If you buy an iPhone X, you’ll get the same fundamental design as Apple’s most recent phones.

4. Two-Camera System

Although the iPhone X is no longer the king of cameras, most mobile photographers will find that its dual-lens system is sufficient. The iPhone X has a 12-megapixel camera with a telephoto lens. You can zoom into your images without sacrificing image quality because you have an extra lens. The iPhone X is also excellent for videography, with the ability to take 4K footage at 60 frames per second. Of course, Apple has improved its iPhone camera technology in the years since the iPhone X was released. Newer iPhones have significantly larger sensors that can capture more light, as well as capabilities such as macro lenses and optical image stabilisation.

5. It’s a Fantastic Secondary or Backup Phone

Even if you have the most recent iPhone, having a backup is always a smart idea. Losing your phone while travelling is a proven way to make a trip memorable in the worst manner possible. Not only did you lose an expensive equipment, but you may also lose access to your travel tickets and itineraries, as well as access to your bank accounts and credit cards. It may also be difficult to contact someone for assistance. When things don’t go as planned, having a backup phone can be a lifesaver.

When it was first released, the iPhone X blew people’s minds, and it’s still a wonderful phone now.
